Introduction

In February 1923, a lone prospector John Campbell Miles
discovered lead carbonate ore in North-West
Queensland, Australia. He named this discovery Mount Isa
which has since developed into one of the world's
largest lead-zinc-silver mines and is owned by the mining company
MIM Holdings Ltd of Brisbane, Australia - Britannia Refined Metals parent Company.
MIM's core products of copper, gold, silver, lead,
zinc and coal are now mined, smelted and
refined worldwide.
