Britannia Zinc Limited (BZL) is regulated by the Environmental Agency (EA) and has held an Authorisation under the Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) Regulations since January 1996.

All emissions are reported routinely to the EA monthly and these reports are held at the EA's office in Bridgwater and Brisol City Council offices. These reports are available for public inspection.

In December 2001 BZL was required to apply for further authorisation under new IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) regulations following an EU Directive.The IPPC application is for both the main operating site and the on-site landfill.

The full applications are also available for inspection by the public at the EA's office or Bristol City Council Offices.
