In June 2005, the Altonorte smelter completed the conversion of an existing roaster to treat up to 10,000 tonnes per year of molybdenum concentrates. This capacity equates to an estimated 5,000 tonnes per year of saleable molybdenum contained in molybdenum trioxide. Start-up commenced in July 2005 and the plant was running at 80% of capacity within two months. It is anticipated that 100% of capacity will be achieved by autumn 2005.
