Falconbridge's aluminum operations are fully integrated and consist of a bauxite mine, alumina refinery, primary smelter and rolling mills. Operations are based in the United States and Jamaica:
- Primary aluminum smelter – New Madrid, Missouri
- Rolling mills – Huntingdon, Tennessee; Newport, Arkansas; Salisbury, North Carolina
- Gramercy Alumina refinery (50% interest) – Gramercy, Louisiana
- St. Ann Bauxite mine (50% interest) – Discovery Bay, Jamaica
The aluminum business operates under the name Noranda Aluminum. Primary end uses for our products are buildings and construction, consumer products, containers and packaging, electrical products, machinery and equipment, and transportation equipment. |
