We are eighth largest copper producer in the world
 
Falconbridge is the eighth largest copper producer in the world. Our operations include long-life, low-cost mines and technologically advanced processing facilities primarily located in North and South America:
  • Antamina mine (33.75% interest) – Department of Ancash, Perú
  • Collahuasi mine (44% interest) – Region I, Chile
  • Lomas Bayas mine – Region II, Chile
  • Altonorte smelter – La Negra, Region II, Chile
  • Kidd Creek mine and metallurgical division – Timmins, Ontario, Canada
  • Horne smelter – Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, Canada
  • CCR refinery – Montréal, Québec, Canada
  • Noranda Recycling – Brampton, Ontario; East Providence, Rhode Island; LaVergne, Tennessee; Roseville, California; San Jose, California; Panang, Malaysia

We also have several projects under development which have the potential to significantly expand copper production.

Falconbridge copper is sold to industrial users throughout the world. Primary end uses are building and construction, consumer products, electric and electronic products, infrastructure, industrial machinery and equipment, and telecommunication and transportation equipment.
