Falconbridge works with key mining industry and government-led associations and partnerships. For example, energy and climate change are key elements within the Mining Association of Canada Towards Sustainable Mining initiative.
We also participate in the Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC), a Canadian government-private industry organization that has been working to improve the nation's industrial energy efficiency for more than 20 years. Over the past several years we have received Canadian national recognition and awards for the quality of our energy and GHG emissions reporting from the GHG Challenge Registry (formerly known as the Voluntary Challenge Registry).
