Sustainable Development Report
An essential aspect of our commitment to sustainable development is to report on our challenges and successes.
Since 1990, Falconbridge has produced an environmental report, which evolved into an annual Sustainable Development Report as of 1998. The Sustainable Development Report focuses on actions and programs that Falconbridge undertakes in the areas of environment, social and community initiatives and economic performance.

Global Reporting Initiative
Falconbridge's corporate sustainable development reporting continues to evolve to meet the needs of our communities of interest and maintain the spirit of transparency.
As a member of the International Council on Mining & Metals, we have committed "to report in accordance with" the Global Reporting Initiative guidelines by year 2007. This comprehensive set of environmental, social and economic indicators includes supplemental indicators specific to the mining and metals sector. Falconbridge actively participated in the development of these supplemental indicators.
We look forward to reporting against this universal set of sustainable development indicators, and as a result ultimately improving our performance and communications. To find out more about the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), visit www.globalreporting.org.
