Future Career Opportunities - Rolleston Coal Project MIM is to plan to develop an eight million tonne per annum thermal coal mine at Rolleston in Queensland. The Rolleston Mine is located is the south-west of the Bowen Basin, 16 kilometres west of the town of Rolleston and about 140km south of Emerald. The capital cost of the mine is estimated to be $175 million for the initial 6 mtpa development with a further $75 million when the second dragline and associated mining equipment are introduced. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2003 once outstanding regulatory approvals are granted, with full mine production expected to begin in late 2004. The mine development includes the construction of a heavy rail line by QR which will link the Rolleston Mine to the central Queensland line to Gladstone. MIM expects mine employees will reside either in a Single Person's Quarters to be built in Springsure while on shift or live in private accommodation in Springsure, Rolleston and the surrounding district. The Rolleston Coal Project will commence recruitment for staff positions in late 2003. It is likely that opportunities will exist for professional technical experts, Superintendents and Supervisors in mining, operational and maintenance related fields. Recruitment for Trade and Operator positions will commence from March 2004. MIM will be accepting applications for these positions from March 2004 and will also advertise in local and regional newspapers. How to Apply MIM prefer to receive all applications on-line.
We take great care in our recruitment processes and want it to be a positive experience for those participating.
