Noranda Inc. is a leading international mining and metals company with more than 48 mining and metallurgical operations and projects under development in eight countries. They are one of the world's largest producers of zinc and nickel, and a significant producer of copper, primary and fabricated aluminum, lead, silver, gold, sulfuric acid, and cobalt.
HGE shares a long history with Noranda dating back to the early 1970s and their first reactor built at the Horne smelter in Quebec. Since then, HGE has undertaken nearly 200 engineering projects for the Noranda group of companies, including the designs of all but one of the Norsmelt Process Reactors since HGE's inception.
